Feb. 25 is International Cochlear Implant Day — the day to raise awareness about and celebrate the life-changing technology that cochlear implants provide.
Cochlear implant technology has been available for 40 years, yet less than 5% of people (globally) who could benefit from this life-changing technology actually have it.
If you’re wondering what cochlear implants are, these are surgically implanted devices to take the place of the damaged part of the ear, with the aim of improving hearing and speech understanding for those with severe to profound sensorineural hearing loss.
Joyful Life Cochlear Implant Fund (JLCIF) invites you to help us celebrate International Cochlear Implant Day to bring awareness to cochlear implants and the importance of hearing health. This year JLCIF have created a fun contest that will cost nothing except a few moments of your time, but could have a significant impact with helping us expand our reach and spread awareness. Join in this contest for a chance to win a JLCIF branded hoodie.
Top fan will be selected on March 1 and notified the same day. The announcement will be made on social media on March 2. Top fan will be picked based on active participation with JLCIF’s social media content.

Did you know over 48 million Americans have some degree of hearing loss? Dr. Thomas Roland of NYU Langone Cochlear Implant Center says “hearing loss is the number three disability in the world.”
If you know someone who is experiencing hearing loss, encourage them to seek out a hearing health professional.
Joyful Life Cochlear Implant Fund offers financial support to cover the ongoing costs of the external equipment (keeping people with their hearing) and provides life and confident coaching for cochlear implant recipients to thrive in a hearing world.
